Foreign Policy Analysis
Foreign policy is a central field of action in the political system. In recent years, there have been numerous country-specific, theory-based case studies and comparative presentations of foreign policy as a sub-area of international relations. Today, fundamental questions and problems of the international system are closely linked to the foreign policy behavior of states. It is therefore necessary to develop a systematic overview of central problems and basic approaches to foreign policy analysis. For a multi-perspective view of foreign policy, the relationship between foreign policy and power, interests, economy, culture and society is also examined in detail. The Center for Global Studies is primarily engaged in the theory-based, research-practical applicability of foreign policy analysis, for example with regard to the foreign policy of the USA, the EU, the Federal Republic of Germany and the People’s Republic of China.
