Dr. Hendrik W. Ohnesorge gave a lecture on ‘Individuals and Diplomacy’ at the University of St Andrews
- 17/10/2019
On the occasion of the strategic partnership between the University of Bonn and the University of St Andrews, which was decided only in December 2018, and as part of the ERASMUS+ programme, Dr. Hendrik W. Ohnesorge lectured on “Individuals and Diplomacy” at the Scottish University on October 9 and gave the accompanying tutorials on October 14.
The lecture was part of the lecture series “Emotional Encounters: Diplomacy, Power and Persuasion in World Politics”. In his lecture, Dr. Ohnesorge demonstrated how individual experience and personality traits of powerful ‘deciders’ (wording by President Bush) have an influence on central political decisions, using the US presidents Kennedy, Bush, Obama and Trump as examples.
We would like to thank the School of International Relations of the University of St Andrews and in particular Dr. Taryn Sheppard for this opportunity of guest lectureship, for the smooth running and the cordial support in advance and on site!
