The CGS congratulates Priv.-Doz. habil. Dr. Hendrik W. Ohnesorge

The Center for Global Studies can happily announce that our managing director Dr. Hendrik W. Ohnesorge has successfully finished his habilitation and earned the title of Privatdozent habil.
In his habilitation thesis, Dr. Ohnesorge analyzed the past and present of German-American relations. A special focus lay on the personalities of selected American presidents tofully understand their role in the make-up of American Soft Power in Germany. The thesis will soon be published in book form.
His inaugural lecture was presented with the title of „Movens oder Schaum auf der Welle? Zum Einfluss des Faktors Persönlichkeit in der internationalen Politik“ and concerned the general role of personalities in international politics. In the timespan between Alexander the Great and Henry Kissinger personalities prominently feature in decisive moments of world history. The current moment seems likely to place even higher relevancy on the study of personalities.
The CGS is happy to congratulate Dr. Ohnesorge and eagerly awaits his further research.
